Accommodation

Ashford Mills has all the ingredients to ensure you have a memorable stay - from couples seeking a romantic escape to friends and family looking for quality time together in the convivial environment.
The property sleeps up to 8 people across the 3 levels of the mill house.

Ground Floor

Annex bedroom

Tucked just off the main space, the annex offers quiet comfort within the Mill.
A raised double bed sits beneath timber beams, with a small WC, sink and a traditional roll-top bath — the perfect place to unwind while looking out to the garden.

The Kitchen

The heart of the Mill.
A country kitchen where the sound of the river mixes with the scent of fresh coffee. Original stone and timber hold the warmth of the building’s history, while modern touches — dishwasher, oven, hob, fridge-freezer and all the essentials — make it easy to settle in.

When you arrive, you’ll find milk, bread, and eggs from the Mill’s own hens waiting for you — a small welcome from the place itself.

First Floor

The Lounge

Upstairs, the Mill opens into a wide, light-filled room overlooking the pond and gardens — a space made for slow mornings or quiet evenings with friends and family. A chaise, sofa and armchairs gather around the wood-burning stove, creating a cosy corner for reading, talking, or simply watching the fire.

When needed, the sofa folds out into a generous double bed, making space for extra guests without losing the sense of comfort and calm.

The Bathroom

Also on this floor, the main bathroom includes a walk-in shower, WC, and sink. Soft towels and complimentary toiletries are provided, so you can simply settle in and enjoy your stay.

Please note:

The ceiling over the sofa bed and wood burner area is approximately 5 ft 3 inches high. The stairs up to the first floor are fairly steep and regrettably are not accessible for persons with restricted mobility.

Second Floor

The Attic

A broad oak and elm ladder staircase leads up to the open-plan attic bedrooms — a space full of light, texture, and quiet character. Beneath the original trusses, the Mill’s history feels close: hand-sawn boards underfoot, time-worn beams overhead, and the faint sound of water below. Look closely and you’ll see the original carpenter’s marks still engraved in the oak — reminders of the hands that built the Mill centuries ago.

Beds are set at each gable end, divided by soft curtains for privacy, creating a peaceful, almost magical retreat — perfect for children, families, or anyone who loves the feeling of sleeping under the rafters.

Please note:

The attic has a low cross beam that will require you to duck underneath to access the beds at one end. The stairs up to the attic are steep and ladder style and regrettably are not accessible for persons with restricted mobility.
